COOKIE BACK ON TOP

Lee Cook continued his march towards a player of the season award by being named your player of the month for February, the fourth time this season he has picked up that title. If he wins one more monthly vote he will break Paul Furlong's record of four wins in a season.

Winner

Player of the Month

Lee Cook 23.08%
Lee Camp 17.95%
Adam Bolder 15.38%
Dexter Blackstock 14.10%
Sampsa Timoska 11.54%
Damion Stewart 7.69%
Danny Cullip 5.13%
Michael Mancienne 3.85%
Simon Royce 1.28%

Despite Cook's win there were plenty of votes for other players in a very tight month.

Lee finishes top with over 23% pushing two recent signings, Lee Camp and Adam Bolder, into second and third respectively.

Camp's presence is all the more remarkable considering he only played in two of February's four matches. Says a lot for everyone else's performances really!

Look out for Skinner's Re-View in the next few days where Simon will look back over the performances that won Cook this months award.

Goal of the Month

Cookie's dominance extended into the goal of the month category where he was voted winner and runner up! His effort against Plymouth is the one that missed out but it was the strike against Burnley that romped home.

Lee Cook v Burnley (H) 63.64%
Lee Cook v Plymouth (H) 15.91%
Steve Lomas v Burnley (H) 11.36%
Dexter Blackstock v Burnley (H) 9.09%

Cook's goal, as described in our match report "Lafferty dallied on the ball in the middle of the park and you don’t need to ask Bolder twice if he wants to have a challenge. He ran through the Burnley man and took the ball from him before slipping a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Lee Cook. Cook carried the ball forward before firing a perfectly placed shot low past Mike Pollitt and just inside the far post."

Match of the Month
QPR 3 - 1 Burnley 90.48%
Southend 5 - 0 QPR 7.14%
Leeds 0 - 0 QPR 2.38%
Finally the match of the month poll saw votes received for three of February's four games with the draw at Plymouth being the one that missed out.

The home win over Burnley, the only victory of the month, takes the prize with 90% of you choosing that game as the best. Some sadists, or possibly Southend fans, voted the 5-0 defeat into second spot with the Leeds draw coming third.

That's all for this month, all the winners go through to our end of season poll and we'll be asking you to pick the best from March once this months fixtures are complete. Thanks for taking part.
