THE MARCH MONTHLY AWARDS RESULTS

After over a week of voting the results are in and here are the winners of our goal, match and player of the month awards for March 2008.
 

GOAL OF THE MONTH
Leigertwood 1st v Stoke (H) 31.67%
Buzsaky v Blackpool (H) 20.00%
Buzsaky v Stoke (H) 13.33%
Leigertwood 2nd v Stoke (H) 11.67%
Agyemang v Scunthorpe (H) 8.33%
Leigertwood v Wolves (A) 6.67%
Rowlands v Scunthorpe (H) 3.33%
Vine v Scunthorpe (H) 3.33%
Buzsaky v Wolves (A) 1.67%

If March gave us anything it was plenty of goals to choose from and nine of them received votes in this poll. However it was Mikele Leigertwood who takes the March honours, his third goal of the month award this season.

Legs wins it with his first effort against Stoke City in the 3-0 home victory. Akos Buzsaky came second and third with his goals against Blackpool and Stoke whilst Leigertwood's second against The Potters came in fourth.
 

Leigertwood's winning goal as described in our match report "Leigertwood sent the ball wide and then found it played back into him twenty five yards from goal. His first touch saw the ball bounce up but his second touch was simply stunning. He swung the left boot at it and made the sweetest of connections to send the ball arrowing into the bottom corner with Simonsen beaten all ends up."
 
MATCH of the MONTH

Only four of March's games received votes for the match of the month award however it was the unexpected, yet fantastic, 3-0 home win over Stoke City that absolutely romped home with the poll. Nearly 90% of you picked that game as the best of the month with the 3-1 win over Scunthorpe coming a distant second place.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Martin Rowlands 50.94%
Akos Buzsaky 15.09%

Damien Delaney 1.89%

Finally onto the player of the month vote and it's a well deserved return to the winners table for Martin Rowlands who wins his second monthly awards of the season.

Rowly has been in fantastic form throughout March and wins your vote with nearly 51% of you preferring his performances over Akos Buzsaky who came trailing in second place.


So that's it for March, all this months winners go forward to our end of season poll as always and we'll be asking you to pick the best from April and May once those fixtures are completed.
