There were nine goals
to choose from and almost all received some votes with Damion Stewarts
equaliser against Bristol City in August being the only one ignored.
It was goals in 2008
that dominated your voting though with the January, February and March
winners making up the top three and Rowan Vine's effort in the home win
against Barnsley being named the winner. |
|
Vine's goal took nearly 29% of your votes to take the award with Akos
Buzsaky's strike against Bristol City in February the runner up with
just over 18%.
Vine's
winning goal as
described in our match report:
"In injury time at the end of the half Rangers produced a sublime second
goal. Vine collected the ball wide on the right and immediately burst
infield leaving a host of Barnsley defenders in his wake. He knocked the
ball into Agyemang, and then took the return; he then sent it back to
Agyemang again and headed for the middle of the six yard box. Agyemang
picked him out perfectly and Vine slammed the ball into the gaping net.
It was superbly fashioned by a set of players that look jammed full of
confidence in their own ability at the moment." |
