SEASON REVIEW: MATCH OF THE SEASON VOTE

Following on from the goal of the season vote, we're now asking you choose the best match from last season.

Chose the best

All of the monthly award winners are eligible, you can choose from some great wins, some OK wins, a draw and a spectacular defeat! Here are the nominations.

QPR 2 - 1 Sheffield United
Winner - August 2005

Back in August things looked so good for Rangers, an opening day draw at Hull was followed with a 2-1 victory over highly fancied Ipswich and then along came another promotion favourite, Sheffield United. A fantastic goal from Marc Bircham and a last minute strike from Stefan Moore gave Rangers all three points and even an injury time goal from Steve Kabba wasn't enough for The Blades to find a way back into the game.

Leicester City 1 - 2 QPR
Winner - September 2005

Rangers travelled to Leicester in September and got off to a great start as Marc Nygaard put Rangers one up ten minutes into his full debut. Things got even better ten minutes later when Leicester were reduced to ten men. However the home side found a way back into the game during the second half when Elvis Hammond hit the equalisier but lady luck shined on The R's when Paul Furlong struck a fortunate winner. However the shine was taken off the victory a little when Furs also saw red for a second bookable offence just before full time.

Derby County 1 - 2 QPR
Winner - October 2005

Another fine performance at Pride Park saw Rangers take all three points. Gareth Ainsworth gave us the lead on the half hour mark, but shortly after the nerves were jangling when Paul Furlong was sent off once again to leave The R's a man short for the best part of an hour. Rangers produced a quite brilliant rearguard performance which included a virtuoso performance from Simon Royce in goal before Kevin Gallen eventually put us 2-0 with ten minutes to go and, although Derby got one back with five minutes to play, the points came back down the M1 that day.

QPR 2 - 2 Hull City
Winner - November 2005

After four straight defeats, Ian Holloway was under pressure and when Hull found themselves 2-0 at Loftus Road you could hear the knives sharpening. However almost as soon Hulls second hit the net Rangers seemed to snap into life and two goals from Gareth Ainsworth saw us earn a point in a thrilling comeback.

Crewe Alexandra 3 - 4 QPR
Winner - December 2005

What a way to spend New Years Eve, watching Rangers win a quite bizarre game at Gresty Road. It was a  scoreline that said more about the quality of each sides defending than it did about their attacks but it made for an entertaining afternoon nonetheless. Three times Crewe took the lead but Rangers pegged them back everytime, first through Lee Cook, then Shabazz Baidoo got our second before a goal of the season contender from Martin Rowlands made it 3-3. Then, with the game, heading for a draw Richard Langley slotted home to ensure the travelling faithful had a happy new year.

QPR 1 - 0 Southampton
Winner - January 2006

Rangers only win in January was this 1-0 victory over Southampton at Loftus Road, a Richard Langley penalty after twenty one minutes was enough to wrap up all three points for The R's in a match which saw Theo Walcott's last full appearance for any club before being announced in the England World Cup squad last week.

Sheffield United 2 - 3 QPR
Winner - February 2006

Gary Waddock's third game in charge looked a daunting one but Rangers came out on top at Bramall Lane to complete an unlikely double over Sheffield United. Marc Nygaard had given us an early lead but The Blades stormed back to a 2-1 advantage by the time we reached the halfway mark. After the break however Rangers got a slice of luck through a Chris Morgan own goal to level things up before Paul Furlong snatched the win with fifteen minutes remaining.

QPR 0 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Winner - March 2006

March was an unremarkable month for Rangers, in five games we drew four and lost one and you picked this home draw with Wolves as the best of the month which, despite the blank scoreline, was a pretty entertaining affair that either side could have nicked.

Norwich City 3 - 2 QPR
Winner - April 2006

Finally you picked the 3-2 defeat at Norwich as the best match in April. Rangers played some of their best football of the season to take a 2-0 lead and leave the home faithful baying for the head of Nigel Worthington. With fifteen minutes to go Rangers couldn't have been more in control but then Norwich got one back through Darren Huckerby and we fell apart. You could almost see it coming as Norwich first equalised and then hit a last minute winner through Robert Earnshaw. Thoroughly heartbreaking stuff but bloody entertaining heartbreaking stuff at the same time!
