FANTASY Rangers IV:  THE FINAL UPDATE

After a season of action it's time to reveal just who has become our fourth Fantasy Rangers champion.

Fantasy Rangers

Too much?

Last month Gary Bowditch was hanging on to top spot ahead of Mark Marley and Jawad Laouira but did he do enough to take the title and first prize? Let's run through the top five.

Ending the season in fifth spot is, one time leader, Coastal Hoop. His team scored 556 points to earn him a top five finish.

Now onto the tightest of tight decisions, this years fourth placed team finished on the same points as our third placed player. So, for the first time ever, we've had to refer to the Fantasy Rangers rulebook and separate the two sides by goal difference (goals scored by current squad minus goals conceded) to decide our first prize winner.

That means that in fourth place, and just missing out third, with 564 points and a Fantasy Rangers goal difference of -196 is Jawad Laouira. Jawad was in joint second in our last update and was unfortunate to slip out of the prize winning spots. Our apologies Jawad. if you're looking for someone to blame then, should you ever run into Georges Santos, tell him he owes you a signed a Paul Parker book!

Now onto the top three teams

First up is third place, and the team in this position wins themselves a signed Paul Parker autobiography (pictured left).

It's been quite a climb for this team and not a bad week for the manager. Just the other day he was announced as the winner of this years predict-R-thon and now he has won himself the signed book. Yes HarpHoops finishes the Fantasy Rangers season in third place.

His team "AFC Real Rubbish" moved up two spots from fifth to claim third, picking up 45 points over the course of the last month. Well done to him.

Now onto this years runner up....

Last month his team "Royce of the Rovers" were in joint second place with Jawad Laouira but Mark Marley's boys held on to take sole charge of second spot and earn him the runners up position and win himself a squad signed QPR football.

Mark's team picked up a total of 568 points meaning he finished just 4 points ahead of third and 17 behind the winner. Talking of whom....

  And finally this years winner.....

He has dominated the top of the Fantasy Rangers table since pretty much the turn of the year. His team had a little wobble two months back but they recovered, got back on top and that's where they've stayed. This years Fantasy Rangers champion with 585 points is Gary Bowditch.

His team only picked up 31 points this month, quite a bit less than the rest of the top five but his lead was such that he had enough points to hang on.

Well done to Gary, for his efforts he wins this signed, squad numbered, Martin Rowlands home kit.

Congratulations to all our winners, We'll be in touch to arrange delivery of your prizes, and commiserations to those that just missed out.
